The day was just right for a Little British Car ride. Thankfully, the threat of rain had gone away and the group left the first rendezvous location in Hickory, NC Promptly at 9:00 AM. We picked up more folks in Claremont and wound our way through the countryside to “Denver of the East” and the restoration shop of Glen and his equally adept business partner Seth. They’ve been in business a few years now and have gained a reputation for high quality if not inexpensive work, primarily on Little British Cars. It was neat to see the cars in their shop that were under various forms of repair and restoration.

Our little convoy of 10 cars including my Morgan, an Austin Healey 3000, an MG TD, a Spitfire, two TR3s, two MGAs and, aghast, two Porsches. I must say the two Porsche owners are straight up guys and good CVBMC members. Other members met us at the EVR shop. They arrived in a Riley, a Bentley, an E-Type Jag and three MGBs.

One neat thing about this C&C was the folks at EVR offered to put cars on their lift so one could get an undercarriage inspection for a very nominal fee. Several members elected to take advantage of their offer. After about an hour and a half of car talk and tire kicking, we said our good byes to Glen & Seth with some members going to lunch while others went their separate ways. I think I can say that a good time was had by all. Next week we do it all over again as the Triumph Club of the Carolinas is hosting their annual British car Gathering in Dobson, NC.
