June 11, 2019 Meeting

 

Call to order – Welcome Everyone. Dean Sprague called the meeting to order at 6:55pm. 30 attended the meeting.

Officer reports:

  • VP – David Poe—David Poe’s Mom’s sale 401 Sunset St Granite Falls 8am Friday and Sat. 8-2pm. Survey for trips was done and David reviewed trips we have taken. The committee will be creating new trips from the survey.
  • Treasurer – Ann Diener $3,518.93 in treasury. Ann will be collecting money for Lake Lure trip. $3.00 for parking have at the event on June 20. Lunch at Burntshirt Bistro. Meet at 9am at Butch’s BBQ exit 103 off I64.
  • Publications – Corky Guenther—Not here. Got home successfully. Corky won first in T series event.

Events – Erik Jordan not here.

  • Web Master- Kathy Ahrendt -Changed our security system on Website. New membership lists were mailed.
  • PRESENTATION : Tom Young; “Hemming’s News Great Race 2019” Bucket list trip. Event started 50 years ago. TSD Rally. This year it starts in Riverside CA to Tacoma WA in their cougar convertible. Before rally they send many rules and regulations. $150,000. in prizes. Entry fee is $4000. Next year begins at the Alamo and goes to South Carolina (2020). On U-tube can see 2018 event. Running on time and speed—no odometer. Sign Tom’s poster to wish them well.

 

  • Old Business:
  1. Cars and Coffee Atlanta Bread, Saturday May 25th 2019. 34 people attended.
  2. “Everything you never knew about Morgan.” Thank you Gene Spainhour
  3. Confirm meeting location @ Timber Woods for July Meeting at I40 exit 106. Map will be on Website.
  4. Confirm Saturday picnic in the mountains for July 27th 2019. Club will provide meat and bring food to share.
  5. New hats will be ordered. Must order 36 of each color to get the discount. May order khaki and light gray.

 

  • New Business:
  1. Bobby Cox has offered his subdivision as a site for a club picnic with his residents. We can have a picnic and bring our cars. Schedule in fall to be cooler.
  2. Tim Scopes (Mike Ryan’s friend) will be our speaker on “driving safety” in July. His number is 828-308-1285.

50/50 Drawing: $81.00 collected. Norm Sherwood gets $42.00. Kathy had a few fun prizes also.
